Microsoft Celebrates 100th Windows Azure Customer

‘Developers, Developers, Developers’ – Steve Ballmer broke into a wild dance on stage last night, at a function to celebrate a big milestone for Windows Azure (Microsoft’s Cloud Offering)– signing up its one-hundredth customer. “Microsoft’s vision of a unified software service platform across the enterprise and cloud has started proving itself” beamed a visibly thrilled Ballmer. “Where are they now – all those online retailers  who called themselves ‘cloud players’?” he asked, in his typical competitor-bashing style.

“It feels like a perfect instance of deja vu” said John Smith, who had worked at Microsoft as part of the Zune team, and had lost his job four years back. He was watching the Azure celebrations from home. “Micosoft is clearly on a path to glory.  Of course, it depends on what your definition of glory is, but we have seen this play out before and so I am supremely confident” he said before taking a call from a headhunter.
