In a move that has stunned the media world, Google co-founder Sergey Brin has bought a majority stake in CNN. “This is a personal investment in my capacity as an individual and has nothing to do with Google” clarified Sergey.

Sergey declined to answer a question from our SVChronicle reporter on the returns on Google’s investment in his wife’s company a few years back. He also rubbished suggestions that this was a move he had made to match the recent purchase of The Washington Post by Jeff Bezos. SVChronicle has also learnt that Mark Zuckerberg is in talks with The New York Times for a ‘strategic’ partnership.
