John Smith, IT Manager with a software firm, was left struggling for words trying to answer his six year old son’s question last evening. His son, Dave, had spent the whole day in the office with John – it was ‘Bring Your Kids To Work’ day at his firm.

After enjoying the first half playing on his iPhone while his Dad attended some meetings and conference calls, Dave was surprised to see that his Dad repeated the same set of activities post-lunch, with some coffee breaks in-between. Dave, who had been instructed by his Mom to observe how Dad works at his office, waited for the opportunity until it was 5 pm. But when John signaled that it was time for them to leave, after a hallway conversation with a colleague, Dave asked him “Dad, So When Do You Work?”
