Marissa Meyer Hires The Complete Cleaning Crew From Google
Sunnyvale, CA: The cleaning crew members at Yahoo were in for a surprise Monday when they were met with a brand new cleaning crew, complete with cleaning equipment including Vacuum cleaners and surface cleaning liquid. The crew members were later told that they were being moved out of the Sunnyvale offices, to make way for the new set of folks that have been recruited away from Google by Marissa.
“Boy, at this rate, very soon this place will be renamed to Google” said the receptionist at one of the main office buildings at Yahoo, herself an ex-Googler. “Do you know that we had a memo out last week, reminding people to say “Welcome to Yahoo” and not “Welcome to Google”? Apparently, a senior vice president at Yahoo was recently greeted with the Google message. After about an hour, he realized that the receptionist had made a blunder – it took him some time to realize the mistake, since he was an ex-Googler himself.
Meantime, Marissa’s financial advisory team was busy proof-reading her message for the quarterly results investors’ call, which was full of sentences like how the goal was to ‘manage the world’s information and make it accessible and useful’ and how Google uses A/B testing to get the UI right.
