The annual IT projects audit at a Fortune 500 firm revealed a surprising fact – 13 different projects were working towards a stated objective of ‘Single Version of Truth’ for the exact same piece of data – customer information. “Some teams had not even heard of the other initiatives, and were actually happy to know that they had a shared set of objectives” the manager of the audit team told SVChronicle.

The audit team mandated a name change for some of these projects so they could be abbreviated using TLAs.
