The American Medical Association has finally agreed upon a name for a behavior that many patients, particularly in California exhibit – genuine trouble in spotting air bubbles, even in broad daylight. The condition would be referred to as ‘Andreessen Syndrome’ after Netscape co-founder and now Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen.

“Marc cannot spot it even after it bursts, however big, colorful or loud the bubble is” said Dr. Louis King, the chief of AMA. “And he has this ability to convince everyone in the room, including the Doctor, that there was no bubble in the first place. I mean, in one case, the bubble burst right on the Doctor’s face” he said.

Regarding the name itself, Dr. King mentioned to a SVChronicle reporter, that the only name that came anywhere close was ‘Graham’s Syndrome’ but Andreessen prevailed, given the difference in the size of the bubbles that each of them couldn’t spot.
